Kernel Keeper
The Kernel Keeper uses a simple, yet effective strategy to cushion the blow of corn ears on a deck plate, capture any loose kernels, and then collect those kernels to maximize your profits.
The Kernel Keeper rails reduce shelling by cushioning ears on impact, and the brushes guide loose kernels into the auger bed.
BENEFITS:
• Just Two Kernels Makes a Difference: If you save just two kernel per ear per acre, that’s one bushel per acre!
• Cushion, Capture and Collect: Cushion the blow of corn ears on a deck plate, capture any loose kernels, and then collect those kernels to maximize your profits.
• Easy retrofit to current deck plates.
• All hardware is included for installation along with drill bit and rail alignment guides.
KERNEL LOSS:
Typical losses can range from 1-3 bushels per acre (2-6 kernels per square foot)
At average harvest speeds, 13 ears impact the deck plates every second, and by the time the ear impacts the deck plate it is moving at about 16 ft/second, so there is a lot of energy.
